SAUNA & SOLEWELT

Relax, and return to your old self as you work up a sweat and feel the pent up tension leave your body – the Sauna Stone section of Therme Wien was created with precisely this in mind. But what’s special about this section of the spa is that there is a separate area for women only and another for men, as well as the customary unisex variety – so there’s no longer any need for anyone to have mixed feelings about going to the sauna. Whichever you choose, all of the steam rooms and saunas are generously proportioned. The Sauna Stone covers around 3,000m² Brimming with opportunities to sooth jangled nerves, melt into the reassuring warmth, withdraw for a while and recuperate.

KNEIPP WATER TREADINGin the mixed sauna

Take four to five steps in a cold or warm pool, raising each foot out of the water in turn and breaking the surface each time. An invigorating treatment that stimulates the circulation.

THE SOLEWELT

The curative benefits of salt provide the common theme for the Solewelt section of the spa. Salt is known for its healing properties. Regenerative and restorative, it enhances the natural suppleness of the skin and the tissue below. This amazing mineral is essential for the body to function properly and performs a vital role in maintaining the natural balance of the human nervous system.

Solewelt opening hours:
Monday to Friday:
1 pm–9 pm

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
11 am–9 pm

THE SAUNASin the Solewelt

Salt hangs in the air in the salt water steam room, while the Finnish salt sauna and the Laconium ‘salt cathedral’ come with their own beautiful halite crystals (rock salt).

THE SALT GRADUATION WALLin the Solewelt

The gently falling saltwater mist close to the graduation wall fills the air with salt. This replicates the feeling of inhaling crisp sea air and has all of the associated positive effect on the body.

THE FLOATING POOLin the Solewelt

Float on your back, suspended in the water. The water’s high salt content – similar to that of the Dead Sea – gives you the impression that you are floating in space.
