Europe’s most modern city spa offers relaxation, preventive health care and spa treatments, all under one roof. Our guests and patients can relax and enjoy treatments on a 75.000 m² site featuring 4.000 m² of pools and water attractions, a separate 3,000m² sauna zone and the private 6.000 m² Therme Wien Med health centre.
Guests who present a disabled pass automatically receive 20% off the listed admission price. If the ID states that an accompanying person is required or the guest is in a wheelchair, the person accompanying them will be granted free admission to the spa. Larger cubicles are available in the changing area at no extra charge. Use of the parking garage is free of charge for disabled ID holders.
During the construction of the new Therme Wien, we placed every emphasis on accessibility with a view to enabling independent use of the spa facilities for all guests – including people with disabilities. There is special access equipment for wheelchair users in thermal baths 1 and 2 – mobile hoists with chairs that can raise and lower people with restricted mobility in and out of the pools in a sitting position.
There is a special lift in the quiet pool. However, like the hoists, it does not feature a lay-flat surface, but raises and lowers visitors with restricted mobility into and out of the water in a seated position.
The quiet pool also has its own rest and relaxation area as well as a dedicated area where wheelchairs can be left.
Therme Wien Med specialises in outpatient treatment and therapy for the musculoskeletal system, outpatient rehabilitation, orthopaedics and pneumology. Hoists are also available at Therme Med Wien for underwater treatments such as underwater gymnastics sessions in the large pools.
Therme Wien is also equipped with a lifting system for people with severely restricted mobility. This system is used to transfer physically impaired guests coming from the thermal spa and Therme Wien Med changing facilities from their wheelchairs into the hoists so that they can use the thermal pools and therapy facilities.
